Aerobics

Low-impact aerobics are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7 am in the Superstition Center. Everyone is invited to come and participate. Check the Calendar or Recurring Activities for specific dates and times, and check the Activity VIP list for contact person for more information.

Aqua Zumba

Aqua Zumba is here at MountainBrook Village. Jump into the latin-inspired, easy to follow, calorie burning dance fitness party that makes working out a splash, Aqua Zumba. Join the party. Come on Wednesday mornings at 8 am, $5 per class or $45 for 10 classes. Contact Mary Wright @928-607-5447 or barry.mary@q.com.

Billiards/Pool

The Billiard Hall is located on the south side of the MBV community activities center. The room is equipped with four regulation size tables which were purchased from Las Vegas, Nevada after tournament play. Bocce Ball

A game of Italian origin similar to lawn bowling that is played with wooden balls on a long narrow court covered with fine gravel, Bocce Ball can be conducted between two players, or two teams of two, three, or four. Bowling

The Monday afternoon bowling league bowls at 3 pm starting the first week in November for a total of 20 weeks. We are a non-sanctioned league, so it will cost you no additional monies to join. If you are interested in joining the fun, contact Marlies Gollnau at 983-3122.

Clogging

Clogging is a truly American dance form that began in the Appalachian Mountains and now enjoys widespread popularity throughout the United States and around the world. The word "Clog" comes from the Gaelic, and means "time". Clogging is a dance that is done in time with the music -to the downbeat usually with the heel keeping rhythm. Darts

Come join in a dart game played in great company Mondays from 6 pm to 10 pm, Fridays from 1 pm to 3:30 pm in the Ocotillo Room. There are steel-tipped dart boards available. Practice darts are available for those who want to try their hand at this challenging game. Fitness Center

MBV has a 1900 square foot facility with various equipment including several new pieces added in 2011. The center is located in the behind the Ocotillo Room. The contact person is the chair of the Fitness Committee.

Golf:

BJ's Hackers

This golfing group had an end of the year party at Hilbert's prior to people leaving for our home states.  Golfing is Tuesday mornings, and the time varies depending upon the season. Check the Mountaineer for more information.

Just for Us Gals Golf

Sunland Springs on Signal Butte and Baseline, ten miles West of MBV is the site for this golfing group on Thursdays. Call May at 671-0838 for more information.

Ladies Nine Hole Golf

It's always time for golf, and the MBV ladies are always looking for anyone who wants to play golf (nine holes) with a fun bunch of gals!  Great weather, an enjoyable and challenging golf course, pleasant companions, and just an all-around good time.  Come join us on Mondays at 8 am at Augusta Ranch. Nine & Wine

Ladies, if you would like to play nine holes at MountainBrook Golf Club, please contact Jenny Mello at 480-983-5088. We play at 2 pm on Monday's. We are a group of ladies who enjoy playing golf, with no pressure, just fun and a little "wine" after nine holes.

The Cooney Men's Golf League

Come and join the fun.  Enjoy golfing with friends and neighbors.  Group rates, monthly closest to the pin contests with prizes, and more.  We play every Monday morning at MountainBrook Golf Club.  For signup and information, contact Chet Haines at 671-1066.

Pickleball

Pickleball is a racquet sport which combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. The sport is played on a court with the same dimensions as a doubles badminton court. The net is similar to a tennis net, but is mounted two inches lower. The game is played with a hard paddle and a polymer whiffle ball. It is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. Softball

There are two softball teams active at MBV--"65 Plus" and "55 Plus." Check the Calendar or Recurring Activities for specific dates and times, and check the Activity VIP list for contact person for more information.

Tai Chi Chih

Meets Monday and Thursday at 9:30 am in the Sunset Room. Contact Lovena Warren for more information at 671-7444.

Tennis

The MBV Tennis Club is open to all MBV homeowners. Round robin starts at 8 am, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Please check the bulletin board outside of court #1 for all current and future events.  We play round-robin tennis, scheduled doubles, mixed doubles, tournaments, and we have challenge ladders for singles and doubles.  The bulletin board will have signup sheets for tennis play and flyers announcing parties and social events. Water Aerobics

Ladies Aquacize is held Monday through Friday in the MBV pool at 8 am and again at 9 am. The 9 am class is known as the "Water Lillies." The 10 am class (email aplamor@juno.com with questions) is high impact. This is an aquaclass with emphasis on exercise first and sociability second for men and women. Water Exercises

There is no charge for this class at 10 am at the pool. No equipment is needed. It is mainly geared to good exercise in the water. It's co-ed, so everyone is welcome. Any questions, please contact Ann Rasmussen (651-351-5373 or aplamor@juno.com).

Water Volleyball

Every day, 2:30-4:30, there's a water volleyball game. You are all welcome . . . come down and join us. The opposite end of the pool is open during the game, so if you'd rather be a spectator, you can just get cool and watch. Yoga

Strengthen your mind and body. Come join us for Yoga on Fridays from 8:30 - 9:45 am in the Sunset Room.  For more information, call Elfriede at 982-2319 or Joyce at 288-0026.

Zumba Gold

Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance/aerobic fitness class. You will learn some very easy steps including Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Mambo, Cha Cha, Calypso and more. You don't have to know how to dance--just follow my steps and have some fun. Zumba Gold classes are every Monday 8 am - 9 am in the Superstition Center.
